
So how does Blizzard attract 1.5 million Chinese subscribers to World of Warcraft? Signage, baby! On a recent visit to the Middle Kingdom, I couldn't walk more than a few blocks in Shanghai without seeing subway posters, taxi ads, murals in KFCs, and collector Coke cans pushing the hit MMORPG. Chinese computer manufacturer Lenovo, who recently took over IBM's PC biz, is also in on the marketing blitz (and they'd probably boost their ThinkPad sales if they bundled the game). That cool Coke commercial doesn't hurt either.
