The Blizzard continues in China: WoW everywhere

So how does Blizzard attract 1.5 million Chinese subscribers to World of Warcraft? Signage, baby! On a recent visit to the Middle Kingdom, I couldn't walk more than a few blocks in Shanghai without seeing subway posters, taxi ads, murals in KFCs, and collector Coke cans pushing the hit MMORPG. Chinese computer manufacturer Lenovo, who recently took over IBM's PC biz, is also in on the marketing blitz (and they'd probably boost their ThinkPad sales if they bundled the game). That cool Coke commercial doesn't hurt either.

The women in the poster are a pop group famous for singing love ballads. I could not think of three other people who would be worse at promoting a blood-filled MMORPG

That is a little odd, but if you watch the commercial they are actually in opposition of a record exec who is trying to impress upon them the notion that "sex sells". Those feisty little SHE devils voice their disagreement and proceed with kicking his butt. The producers were mindful in keeping bloody violence effects out of the commercial.
