Xbox World 360: Halo 3 feature not a hoax, hardly news

On Monday, the cover of the latest issue of Xbox World 360 was posted on French gaming site, jeux-france.com, and seemed to indicate a Halo 3 feature inside. Well, to clear things up, first, Xbox World 360 is a real magazine published by Future (the fifth largest magazine publisher in the UK). It was previously known as XboxGamer, but has been redesigned to meet demand for next-gen content. Each Xbox World 360 issue also comes bundled with a DVD.
However, in its pseudo-debut issue, Xbox World 360 does not contain any new details about Halo
3. The cover image refers to a 6-page feature that focuses on fan speculation. Neither the magazine nor the DVD
contains screens, video, or even artists' renders. So no, it wasn't a hoax—but we still feel cheated…

This is horrible, I bought the magazine. It is false advetisement. Man I feel cheated, I'm never going to get this magazine again. Thanks a lot FUTURE Publishing, what a waste of money.

Future also publishes the Official Xbox Mag though under a company specifically spun off for the purpose to avoid conflict seeing as it publishes the official UK Playstation Mags.

No surprise really, this magazine (previously known as Xbox World) has done things like this in the past. The mag is rubbish anyway.

Unofficial speculation, Unrivaled speculation, and Unbiased.The top of the magazine says it's unbiased but also says the PS3 is dead. No wonder why the French are ignorant.

Razor hate to point out what the story cleary stated chief, but the mag is English. The cover scan appeared on a frech site.

Don't all magazines do this to sell copies? I guess a 6 page article based on speculation is pretty f'ing crappy, even if it's par for the course.

No offense, but all you had to do was read the press release that accompanied the picture to know that the magazine didn't have anything about Halo 3 in it. The French site that had the picture took the picture from GamesPress (GP = the GamesPress watermark) and no one bothered to follow up on the story except for a few folks out there, myself included.

I all I have to say is that I hope Microsoft doesnt use up it's roar by putting Halo3 out the same time the PS3 is released.
The PS3 is speculated to be an expensive machine,so anyone who plans on buying a PS3 from the start will buy one regardless of Halo3 or not.
That doesnt mean i'm not going to be pumping needles into punkass elites come game day :)

I don't think MS will release Halo 3 at the same time as PS3. J Allard knocked some sense into Bill Gates by throwing a wireless controller at his shins. Steve Ballmer told me so.

The game industry hasn't changed a bit........... I remember seeing "journalism" like this back in the day from EGM, which would put all of these enticing headlines on the cover, but only include one blurry screenshot or just some speculation about one or (better yet) multiple games.
Oh, and I always loved the "SNES IS COMING TO CRUSH GENESIS FOREVER," "PS WALKS AWAY FROM SATURN," etc. Only this time, it's "PS3 IS DEAD."
Seems that the gaming industry is full of nothing but fanboys now. I *despise* Microsoft, but I am still looking into the XBOX360 because of it's potential. Unfortunately, the games that I have seen so far are weak. Where's the in-game footage? Where are the kiosks showing the upcoming games? Magazine reviews?
