Would be funny if someone started a rumour that they were announcing all the features for Halo 3 - then everyone speculated it - then were completely disappointed to find it to be completely useless info

O wait - Isn't that the history of Sony @ E3?

ZING!

Bungie was a no name company before Halo, its funny to see how all that can change because of a single title.

"Bungie, wtf is bungie?"

"Der da guys dat made Halo!"

"OMFG I love da bungie!"

"what other games they make?"

"who da hell cares? dey make halo!"

Nope. During a speculation thread at the HBO forums Frankie popped in and killed that idea. He earlier mentioned Halo 2 running on 360 so I'm going with the theory that their going to show off the Halo 2 engine on 360.

I'd prefer a video clip of the Bungie team spoofing "Napoleon Dynatmite" and not just Bill Gates:

Why would they show Halo 2 running on the Xbox 360? Isn't it just going to look the same as it did on the Xbox?

Well anyway, It could be something like a Live version of Halo 1, that would be uber cool.

Yes Miles, it will look just the same. :p

Go to the Bungie website and look at the screenshots of Halo 2 , there are many in-game running at 1080i, they have the high resolution textures ready. Pile on the effects, and the fact that Bungie were once Apple devlopers and bam. Multi threaded, effect fest. Halo 2 style

I like that idea. :D

I think with the release of the Halo Triple Pack, they should have put Halo 1 on Live. I liked playing that game online on the PC. There was a way to play online with your XBOX, through your PC, but I was to lazy to find out how.

Being a Mac user, that hurt. :p Well, unless you didnt know Apple are helping many, iD with Gears of War for one, in getting the most from the 3 processors. I have a Dual 2ghz PowerMac G5, and that is what they used to orginally create the games. Apple pioneered the use of mutiple processors, and as Bungie were a Mac developer for a very long time, they will be used to multithreading games. There special bond with Apple helps also ;) :p

Hey FaceOff! Gears of War is developped by Epic! The guys that did Unreal Tournament. :P

id Software did Quake, Doom, Wolfenstein, Commander Keen, etc. They never worked in parallel with Epic nor did they with Digitals Extremes. :P

And the nexgen consoles are multi-cores. Not multi-cpus. ;)

Hey Turkman!

Listen to what I said!

I stated that Apple are helping id and other developers to get the most from the multi 'cores', not developing them games!

ummmm.... Doom3 was developed by iD, not EA. Doom has always been an iD game. EA has absolutely nothing to do with Doom3 or any other Doom for that matter.

As far as Apple helping with development for the next gen consoles, I would think that whould have more to do with Apple's experience with the PowerPC chips than with Multi cores.

Some of us remember Bungie making Oni, Myth, and Marathon.

AZTrident, dude, I know. It was a joke.

BTW, go watch the video of CliffyB showing off Gears of War at TGS, his boss states that Apple are helping them making the most of multithreading games.

I'm guessing either Halo2 for PC, or some kind of announcement on the Halo movie.
