Bungie confirms Halo cameo in DOA4, but not the identity

DOA lineup for the Halo character cameo
We brought you news earlier today of a rumored crossover appearance of a character (or thing) from Halo making it into Dead or Alive 4 for the Xbox 360. Now we hear that Bungie's confirmed the cameo, but won't say who will be fighting against Kasumi and crew.

The DOA series has pretty much stuck to the most beautiful fighters they can find, whether male or female. (Er, barring Gen Fu? He won’t be in DOA4, at least not initially.) So we can only guess that an Elite or Flood-infected Marine’s not going to be Team Ninja’s first choice for their first non-Tecmo guest star. They did spill a few details about who handled what, however, stating: “Team Ninja handled the fighting style, and we handled the story aspects. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the explanation for a Halo character in the DOA universe, even if it’s a bit tongue in cheek.”

Also, the DOA reveal is apparently not the only surprise Bungie has in store for us. Frankie, the resident webmaster/site-updater for Bungie had this to say with regards to his previous “awesome” announcement for this week: “Oh, and although I did hint at this surprise in last week’s update, that wasn’t everything….” If it’s not Bungie’s next project, then what could it be?

[Thanks, Master X 24 and Matt]
