EA counters NBA 2K6 360 screens w/some from Live 06
EA has released three more screenshots
from the Xbox 360 version of NBA Live 06 in
preparation for a big showing at the X05 this week. These accompany the latest pics for the 360 version of
Madden 2006, and they look sweaty.
In reality, the other two shots not pictured aren't as dripping with perspiration as the close-up of Dwyane Wade you
see here, but they're also not as exciting. (How many K.G.-postin'-up-on-a-Wallace shots can you take before they all
start to blur together? Even the jammin'-James pics start to get old after a while.) Of course, the real question is
whether Live can take the graphics crown from b-ball rival
NBA 2K6, which may still hold the photorealistic
edge, with or without puddles of sweat.
[Thanks, The1]

I call shenanigans. The Dwayne Wade pic is not an in-engine realtime render. It's a pre-rendered still. You can clearly see the difference between it and the other two shots. The 2K6 shots, on the other hand, *are* authentic in-game shots. I want to know when EA will actually release gameplay movies... hopefully sometime in the next two days.

Hmm... apparently no one opens their mouth in the NBA unless they're dunking...

Man,this is really irritating.
They keep showing these stills of amazing looking games....but they're always sports.
When are we going to get some updates on DOA4,Full Auto (why does noone aknowledge this game but me?),PDZ,Need for Speed Most Wanted and many others? No Quake4? What about Ghost Recon 3?

Nice piece of work, but not gameplay. I mean, this is EA, afterall. They've already done this with 360's Madden, and when they actually revealed TRUE screen captures, they didn't quite live up.
You'd think that with all the money they had, they'd at least be able to come out with superior graphics.

I guess I'll be the first to call Bullshot.

Apparently fake-looking glow and reflection effects will be quite popular in next-gen games. Some of those shots are plain ugly, several skin textures look like scorched plastic and the sweat doesn't make it any better.
I agree on that sports thing BTW, I'd like to see more shots from next-gen games other than sports...

So what if they were in game shots? Who cares about being able to see perspiration? Whats the point in that kind of detail?
Im looking at you, you graphic-whore-mongering-style-over-content-real-movie-hating-

Boring...give me some real gameplay footage...you can shove your pretty screenshots up your shaft. Everybody knows those can be produced on a lowly PC.
