I don't know if it's basically the same idea, and I don't really care.

Inventing a new concept is not hard. The trick is implementing it.

IF (yes if) the Nintendo makes the "wand" work, and 6 months later Sony revives this patent, they will still in my book have stolen the idea from Nintendo, because it will be Nintendo who turned the patent into reality.

It's like writing books - everyone has an idea for a book. But the glory goes to the one who actually writes it.

Sony was smart enough to never release because it's crappy technology. Precision and fatigue is going to be a HUGE problem.

By registering the patent, Sony made the idea a reality...

The sad thing about your "book" remark is, its not the same, you don't register patents for books... if you register a patent for a product and it shows that your idea exists and that you made that idea, its your idea.

Once again, The Nintendo introduced the Revolution with this style of controller, you can theorize and guess whether it will be a gimmick all you want but that is all you are doing. This magic Wand at best works in conjuction with the Eye Toy which the last time I looked was something you have to buy seperate with the system, they are not basing their ideas for the main system the PS3 on what the Eye Toy can do. The pure fact that there will be peripheal parts for the Revolution controler shows you they intend on implentation and utility and fuctionality as that being the main controller for the system. Did you see a press conference for a different controller for the nintendo Revolution? I rest my case.
As for my Insult against FF, MGS, and GTA I stand by them. They strap a Water hose to mario's back, They turned Link into something totally different, Tenis, Golf, Smash Bros, RPGs. If you think All the mario games and Zelda games are the same, then you are just not paying any attention. They only thing that keeps them the same are the characters and that is it. Mario kart is a completely different game then Super Mario 64. Now your turn MGS2 was different than MGS Snake eater? Cause you didn't snap peoples necks? Cause you ate a snake? Grand Theft Auto Vice city was different then Grand theft auto San Andreas cause? Well you did virtual lay the pipe to some poorly rendered girl fully clothed so that counts I guess. And Last but certainly not least Final Fantasy Cause squal Cloud, and WHo gives a damn about the rest aren't the same right. Now this is definetly the wrong place for this arguement, and I am not saying some of those games were not enjoyable. But I was attacked on the idea that nintedo puts the same idea forward in mario and zelda as Square, Konami, and Rockstar does. and I would love to see How this comes about.

49. Ghazi:

Have you played on a DS? Obviously you haven’t. You ever play Kirbys Canvas Curse? It would be impossible to play that game on any other console. You might be able to do it on a PC but it would never be as precise as the DS version. Im not going to explain to what you do in the game, you can figure that out on your own since you have never used a DS. You will also figure out that it is IMPOSSIBLE to do it on your PS2, GC, XBOX, PSP, 360 and PS3. Go read and educate yourself.

You know why they made the shell? One reason is that its for closed-minded people like you who think the controller will fail because YOU think its a gimmick. If we look at my previous statement about the DS we see that it is not a gimmick at all. The same thing will happen with the revolution.

The second reason is so you can download and play the entire catalog of NES SNES N64 and GC games.

Sony should give up and stop copying Nintendo, ever since they left Nintendo, all they have done is steal Nintendo's ideas. Give up Sony, give up!

So you're saying Nintendo's controller is an 'assanine idea' while at the same time, you're arguing in a different post about how awesome the concept of controlling a PS3 game by using your hands as controllers via Eyetoy/Cell? That's the most hypocritical thing I've ever read here.

What a prick.

I don't like Nintendo anymore than you do, but you're comments simply make you look like a damn retard. People here hate Sony so much because morons like you kiss thier ass everytime they bend over.

You do know that this magic wand is as old as the PS2.
