This year marks the second annual Walk of Game inductions, where legendary
icons (both real and digital) get honored with their own star on the Walk of Game inside Metreon in downtown San
Francisco. As of last Saturday, October 1, until Halloween, gamers can go to the Walk of Game web site and
vote for this year's
nominees. The list is full of deserving characters and
developers, although many of the nominees date back as far as the beginning of the industry - Frogger, Pac-Man, Doom –
all the way to as recent as Grand Theft Auto and The Sims. As for the nominees that breathe air, John Carmack, Peter
Molyneux, Sid Meier, Toru Iwatani, and Will Wright have been nominated for lifetime achievement awards.
Last year's winners were Shigeru Miyamoto, Nolan
Bushnell, Link, Mario, Sonic, and Halo – the last of which seemed a bit too early to earn a legendary status, but then
again this was a choice made by a majority of gamers who voted. What games and game makers do you feel deserve stars
this year?
