Non-bundle Xbox 360 pre-order deal back in stock
Eagle eyed Joystiq tipster Wes has spotted the mythical Xbox 360 preorder—without a bundle—over at RitzCamera.com.
The site has both the Core and Platinum systems available at just $50 and $19 over the recommended retail price for
each bundle respectively. The deal is now back in stock, after it sold out
when we reported it last week.
At least there's one retailer out there that isn't forcing gamers to
take out a second mortgage and hire a truck to pick up a
next-gen console with two dozen games and a plasma screen.
[Thanks, Wes]

I would recommend checking them out on resellerratings.com before telling people to buy from them.

Why would anyone pay more for the basic console packages?? The Costco pre-orders while they lasted actually were cheaper than buying the components seperately, and those components were definitely something almost everyone would buy - an extra wireless controller, and a Play&Charge kit, along with PGR3 (well, not every X360 buyer might want this game, which is really dumb BTW).
If anyone is interested, you can also pre-order the console only package at your local GameRush/BlockBuster store by paying $100 upfront, and the difference when you pickup the console at launch time. Pretty good deal, if you ask me. You will only pay the MS suggested retail price of $399 or $299 depending on your choice of the console SKU.

Too bad they don't have in-store pick-up.
There could be a 10-day delay between the time it launches and the time you get it.

It is actually about 3 dollars cheaper if you order it online than if you purchase it in a store. The sales tax is not included so it pays for itself. I guess it depends what state you live in but in California where I live you break even about. %8.75 taxes...

Thanks for the reminder, CheapyD. (Someone remembered! =) Looks like it's been acknowledged.

You still can't find many consoles-only being sold anywhere, except for B&M stores. However, the bundles are getting to be very plentiful and they are actually shipping... this stockwatch board was lighting up green all day long yesterday:
