Ubisoft announced today Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 4, which will be available in Spring 2006 for current and
next-generation consoles, as well as the PC. Unfortunately the official announcement features no information about the
game other than "it will be even more thrilling and heart-pounding than its ground-breaking
predecessors."
That's a good thing to hear, but it's hard to imagine the creators of a game calling a sequel
anything less than more exciting than its predecessors. The fourth in the series will have quite a reputation to live
up to, with the previous game, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, garnering a record breaking 9.9/10 in Official Xbox
Magazine. Taking another reference, the Splinter Cell franchise has sold over 12.5 million games since the franchise
was created in 2002. Can they hit the big 15?
