Activision stays firm on $60 price for next-gen titles

Stacked Money (225)Speaking to Forbes magazine, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has reaffirmed his position on pricing next-generation console games at $60 – a 20% increase over the current generation. According to Kotick:

"We've said we're to going sell those products at higher price points until … the market forces us to sell them at lower price points, which we don't think is likely. We don't really think that there's a lot of price sensitivity on the part of the consumer, if you're delivering value."

Of course, the problem therein is with making sure the next-generation games are all worth $60, and Activision's lineup of Tony Hawk, Call of Duty, and Quake sequels, may or may not have that added value over their predecessors.

[Thanks, bandersnatch]
