maybe they are renaming the system Evolution, which would explain the E and the bacteriatype stuff, which maybe in some type of advertisement will show evolution.

Nintendo may just bless Edge with a Revo exlusive (game screens, new name, or network details). It would be a great way to score some respect among the hardcore gaming community.

Edge is a well respected magazine, I don't think they'd have such a back page if it weren't for good reason.

Ah, now I get why you guys are mentioning the disc drive.... I've reworded the first sentence to better convey what I meant to say, that the feature/article looked pretty mysterious, rather than an opinion that the glow of the Revolution's slot-loading drive is mysterious (or otherwise inscrutable). The line used to read: "mysterious feature" rather than "mysterious article." Sorry if I sent the wrong message.

I may have already seen this, but any Nintendo news can lead to more new Nintendo news. More Nintendo news will possibly lead to a better chance at knowing the release date and seeing "Revo" games in action. Hopefully in action. Anyway, keep it coming with the Nintendo news.By Nintendo news, I mean Nintendo Revolution news.

From one of Nintendo's many fans.

Maybe the cells are for CELL processor...
But the slit looks like a REV thing...

Maybe this is just a anything but XBox Magazine.

To repost my theory of the red moon/bacteria...

Is it meant to represent the forthcoming nintendo wifi network?
(a wifi hotspot surrounded by DS players?)
And is the "E" really a "W" for "Wireless"?

i've never read edge, but the first thing i thought of when i saw the ad was the revolution is coming next month. wishful thinking, perhaps, but it would certainly be a major coup if the next nintendo console was released that soon...before the holidays, before the 360 and just as the news comes out that the gamecube is at the end of its life.

maybe they are further along in the development of the rev than they've been letting on. just a thought.

I subscribe to Edge and can confirm that it is in fact the Revolution slot drive. The E cells represent the Cell processor. But Edge does this every issue. Edge knew that Revolution and PS3 news would appear at the Tokyo Game Show. I doubt that Edge will have any new info on either. It is just a way of getting people excited about the next issue (which I like).

Edge is the best Videogame Magazine I have ever read. People should stop subscribing to crappy mags like GameInformer and EGM and get Edge. Even if you are in the US (like me) you can still subscribe.

Cool pic though, isn't it.

Lets hope some magazines start giving the Revolution the coverage it deserves right now. I've really been let down with Nintendo Power. There has still been no mention of the controller in that magazine at all.

For those who haven't noticed, it IS the new Nintendo font on that page with the optical drive illuminated...(the font used on DS packaging, etc.)

This could very well be new Revolution news.

Edge is an excellent magazine, I've been collecting them for a while now. As #27 said, EDGE missed out on the controller information - So i'm guessing it'll be to confirm it in the next issue.

Edge were surely one of the oh so lucky people that got an invite to the hotel and to try the controller themselves - this might just be the awesome hands on that we've all read online.

Then again we could have some really neat news coming from them, Edge are well respected in the Hardcore crowd and would do Nintendo a world of good.

Whatever this is I'll pick it up and see, we should have more news coming on this fantastic Revolution.

Oh and just a thought, if it isn't cell's for the PS3 maybe it's something to do with nano-technology.

We've probably all read the rumours, maybe they are right - maybe Nintendo have some ultra high tech things cooking. After all, the Rev. may be so much smaller but we all know graphical differences will be virtually non-existent.

Just a thought.

The artwork inside Edge's front and back covers are always linked in some way and generally are connected to an article in the current issue, if anything. This has been a long running tradition for as long as I can remember - i think it was the first redesign that happened somewhere around issue 60ish. (Just for those of you who are interested, Edge #1 was just as quality as it is now).

The 'cell' with the 'e' in it has NOTHING to do with the slot of the Revolution. Every issue of Edge has something on the inside cover pages that is topical and has the Edge logo in it.

As for the picture of the drive slot. Edge do this EVERY month. They show a glimpse of what's to come in the next issue.

This doesn't mean that there's any big news at all, Edge has yet to have any major coverage of the Revolution controller.

I think someone's read Edge for the first time and got over exited.

(I know other people said this, but some people arn't reading!)

I believe that the photo on the adjacent page is suppose to question the reader if they are ready (Red "E"). Do you remember the ad campaigns for Sega Genesis games back in the early 90's? (R U E) <-- the "E" was red. I suppose that people who didn't catch it questioned what "rue" meant.

Edge is probablly the most respected gaming mag in existence. It is read by hardcore gamers and industry employees who want to hear a spade being called a spade. They write intelligent, unbiased opinions on all gaming systems and software. Games are rated 1-10 and rated fairly. The artwork is uber cool and there's always some little hint like the one being touted here, as to what you can expect in the next issue. Don't hold your collective breaths though as it's usually not what you think it'll be. Only advice I can give is...umm...wait and see

It says There is that a few weeks, we announced to you that the next edition of English magazine EDGE to appear on October 27 could reveal new information on the Revolution .

At all events, it would seem that this new number is a little in advance. Here thus what seems to be the cover entirely dedicated to the next console of show of Nintendo .

For the moment, few information circulate on the Net on possible exclusive information but one keeps you informed as soon as one does not know any any more.
