Next Generation has been fond of running surveys of industry types for
big
developments lately, and they have treated the recent X05
event no differently. Check out the industry reaction
here, and see
if you agree with the media (and that analyst) they queried this time.
The consensus seems to be that the X05 event itself was fairly successful in showing much-improved games in action
(especially Perfect Dark and PGR), but "a single, slam-dunk AAA title at launch" still appears to be
lacking. (Halo 3, where are you??)
X05-specific indices for some of the bigger game sites can be found as follows:
GameSpot,
IGN,
GameSpy,
Game Informer, and
TeamXbox.
You can check out Kikizo for their closing thoughts on
the event as well, where they go over both days of presentations, European booth babes, and playable games (though an
odd note that Gears of War is a launch title was also made). More of their high-res videos are hopefully
forthcoming.
