According to The
Magic Box, Sony has announced a PlayStation 3 entertainment festival for October 22-30 of this year in Tokyo,
Japan.
The Akihabara Enta Matsuri (presumably held in Akihabara, that mecca of Japanese gaming goods) will provide a
showcase for "all the new PlayStation 3 software and hardware," though "it is uncertain whether the software will be
playable or in video form only."
So will over a week's worth of PS3 hoopla be enough to deter any new MS admirers from putting down those 360
pre-orders? Can Sony put down the next 'Box a year before a PlayStation launch (much like it did to the scrappy, but
admittedly more Japanese Dreamcast)? It should be a fun month, folks, and we can't wait to see what Ken's got up his
sleeves!
[Thanks, Night Walker; the news will likely be in the archives
here later.]
