According to
TeamXbox, "ATI
Technologies has released new documentation of Xenos, the custom graphics processor designed by ATI for the Xbox 360,
at its Developer Program web site."
Here are some relevant Xenos specs (for all you
pipeline fiends):
-
500 MHz clock speed,
-
48 shader pipelines (featuring the first unified shader architecture in a commercial GPU), and
-
Two cores: a parent die with 232 million transistors, and a daughter die with over 100 million transistors (which even acts as a frame buffer "among other functions").
Of course, as you all know, those numbers only mean something as they relate to how well they render the curves on
Ruby: The Assassin (pictured above).
Dark resemblance, anyone?
