Sony has released version 2.50 firmware for the PSP via the "Network Update" feature; which offers several new features and tweaks. The most important new feature is the addition of "LocationFree Player". This software allows you to stream video content from your home PC (via a LocationFree base station; extra purchase necessary) to your PSP via wifi.
There's also a bunch of other smaller changes, like a "Network Time" feature. But really, if you're not going to use the LocationFree Player feature there's little reason here to upgrade. Especially since this upgrade will break any homebrew apps you have.
