Finnish scientists have invented a nifty device that might help cut down on theft of
mobile devices, including your favorite mobile gaming console. The device works by storing information about how its
owner tends to walk. It then compares the information it has stored to the information to the information coming in
from the person currently carrying the device. If the info doesn't match, your PSP or DS won't work.
"Compared with passwords and traditional bio-identification, the new method is simple: confirmation of identity takes place as a background process without any need for user's intervention," Reuters quotes one of the researchers as saying.
This sounds like an excellent method to keep gamers from ever breaking a sweat. Tell your mates that you'd like to go for a 3-mile run, but that you're afraid it'd brick your Game Boy Micro.
