Some enterprising gamer rigged up a Goldbergian cheat in order to collect one million roses in
the We Love Katamari game, sequel to the sleeper hit Katamari Damacy. Once he had collected his one
millionth rose, he got a special thank you from the King of All Cosmos, pictured at right. Here's a description of the
trick:
"On Friday night I hooked up a PS2 controller to a sturdy wooden chair with some string so it is immobile. I then taped the left analog stick in the forward direction. Then I put an oscilating fan in front of the controler-chair setup. To the fan, I attached a string with a loop on the end of it. I put this loop around the other analog controller so that when the fan oscilates, it pulls the stick in different directions."
Here's a video of the cheat in action.
PC gamers would have just rustled up a special script to perform the repetitive action, but console gamers have to be much more creative.

Update: Jeez, really mangled MacGuyver's name. Fixed now.
