Apple has posted an article over at its developer connection website
detailing Mac game publisher Aspyr's experiences of porting games to the Intel-based Mac platform. The article features
a bit of Apple arse kissing—c'mon, it is their website—but it does give a good idea of how Aspyr is coping
with the move to Intel-based Macs.
Three months ago we took at a look at what possible outcomes the switch to Intel could have on the Mac games industry. This Apple article goes some way towards allaying some of the fears people had in the aftermath of the Mactel announcement. The article mentions that games around two years old run easily in Apple's Rosetta; which is welcome news for Mac gamers. How realistic this will be in practice remains to be seen.
