CNN's Game Over has dedicated its most recent
column to Tiger Telematics' Gizmondo, which is due to launch in the US
this Saturday. We're all guilty of poking fun at the Gizmondo from time to time, but Game Over gets downright nasty in
its review.
Calling out Tiger for making an inferior product is in stark contrast to the typical review-inflation that we're used to in this industry. But is it easy for Game Over (and others) to pick on the little guy? Do critics go soft on the real industry heavyweights because of the politics involved? If you compare the various entities within the entertainment media spectrum (film, music, books, games, etc.), the gaming industry suffers from the greatest amount of review-inflation. Why?
[Thanks, bandersnatch]
