Methinks Vin just a bit too charasmatic for this role. I always pictured 47 as a silent, morose type. Like the guy that played Bull in Night Court. Seriously, I am a reluctant fan of Vin, but this casting choice just relegated the character of 47 and the movie itself to the ranks of "just another action flick".

Ever seen Vin in Knockaround Guys? I think he's pretty good as a tough guy, he just has problems picking good scripts.

I think this might be a pretty good role for him but I agree, Jason Statham, would be a better fit.

Jason Statham would also be good... but quit shitting on Diesel. Sure he has chosen some really crappy movies and parts to do, but the guy can act. He was good in the Boiler Room and great in Saving Private Ryan. The guy can act, its just that alot of his choices suck.
