Video game musicians jailed for their art
While plastering NYC with flyers for
tonight's big 8-bit music concert, musicians Nullsleep and
Bit Shifter were nailed by plainclothes police officers who slapped cuffs on 'em and told them that "a cleaner New York
is a safer New York" according to blog Music Thing. They were booked for pollutin' and carrying concealed Game
Boys.
See, even video game rockstars live dangerously. Hardcore gamerz 4 life, yo.
Luckily they were only in the lockup for three hours. They'll still be able to perform this evening… speaking of which, GO!
[Thanks Haakky]

I wonder if Bill Gates got arrested for it in 2002:

Or at the very least, did anyone from MS have to go to jail for littering the city back then? Probably not, they just paid their $55, and said, "Wow, we get even more free press over this, cool!"
:(

Ok that's just taking things overboard. The concealed Game Boys made me snicker though.

yeah that bit about the game boys was the best!

Haha. I can guarantee they wouldn't've gotten arrested if they looked older, wore glasses, and it said "LOST DOG" really big at the top. That's age discrimination, foo!
I was in NY in April and saw posters for these and wanted to go pretty bad. Then, in a completely unrelated revelation, I discovered their music--and the fact that it's released online for free--if I remember correctly, under a nice Creative Commons license. These guys rock.
