The U.S. release date for Dragon Quest VIII has been moved up a week
to November 15th, while the vague, already exceeded Spring 2005 release date for Gran Turismo 4 Mobile has
been pushed back to sometime in 2006 for Japan (and who knows
what that means for gamers in other regions).
The change in DQ's retail appointment could have something
to do with avoiding a schedule conflict with the launch of the Xbox 360 on the 22nd, but we're sure that Square Enix
would love to release their as-yet non-mainstream(-in-the-States) RPG for American audiences as soon as possible to
make the all-important holiday shopping season (which tends to kick off after Thanksgiving).
We can only hope for PSP owners who are driving-simulator fans that GT4M will come out with a substantial
online multiplayer component, something left out of the eventually released console version of the game.

I got the demo of DQ8. I didn't like it very much. Square never gave me my damn keychain. That's all I really wanted. :P

I hate Square Enix. I'm so beyond the age I should be playing Japanese RPGs and I just don't have the time. Xenosaga II made me hate myself for finishing it.
And yet I know I'll pick this up the day it comes out. Rogue Galaxy, too, will no doubt depress the hell out of me once I see how many hours it took to finish.
I think I'm throwing in the towel and I'm going to get a cheat code system for the first time in my life from now on since I've passed 29 just for RPGs. No more point in spending ten hours doing pointless side quests to get a special attack that has a five second animation that is obviously never worth it. I will max out my characters right at the start and just pummel through the thing.
I actually completed the entire Arena in FFX and killed the head bad guy in like three hits. WHY DID I DO THAT?
I'm fine with waiting for GT4 mobile - there are too many driving games on the PSP as it is. Market does not need another one just yet.

Is there any word on a DQ8 release for the UK/Europe? It looks like the sort of game I should be playing.

You know what? I just realized that I didn't get mine, either. Either they ran out of our keychain allocation, or low-cost shipping is taking a bit longer to get here than the separately mailed demo disc. We'll have to wait and see.

Forget the keychain I don't think they are coming. I wanted one too , no dice. DQ8 demo was good I don't know it i can go back to random battles and fetch missions. RPG's have come a long way since then. This game is retro.

Oh good! I thought the mailman stole my keychain. lol.
Well, anyways... GT4M is going to take forever.
And the Dragon Quest VIII demo didn't really impress me. It was somewhat fun, but jaggy city when playing on a 60" TV.

DQ VIII moved up? Kick ass!
I played the demo. It's the RPG I've grown to love. Dragon Warrior > Final Fantasy.

Didn't get my keychain either - maybe later? Or possibly they'll be sending an email with the info?
The demo was just fine, but I found the overhead world more than a bit "empty" - this goes along with the whole DQ feel, but I was expecting a little bit more I guess. Still, I liked the challenge of it (I tried to kill the first boss waaaay too early) and it seemed pretty fun.

Wait...there was a DQVIII keychain?
Did you get it for preordering DQVIII?
Because I was the second person in my entire area to preorder DQVIII, and I didn't get any keychain... :(
Needless to say, I'm excited the release date got bumped up a week. Now if Sony would just announce that they were bringing the white PSP to America, November would be pretty much...perfect.

No keychain for me either. Just a demo that confirmed that in no way do I want to spend one more minute of my life playing that game.

Hey guys,
I also signed up for the demo disc of Dragon Quest 8. The separate keychain comes SEPARATELY! Give the keychain a couple of weeks and it should arrive. I got the blog/glob...the thing that looks like a piece of doo doo..and 4 smaller doo doo's hahaha :)
I love old school RPG's!

Dragon Quest is the best RPG of all time. They prefer a game with story and classic action rather than super graphics and a cliched storyline (a.k.a, Final Fantasy). I'll be picking up my copy the day it is released, no matter when it is.
