In the latest issue of Nintendo
Dream, Square Enix's Kouichi Ishii (Mana series producer) revealed that Next Entertainment (previously
known as Nextech) would be handling the development of the upcoming DS title, Children of Mana. The decision
to outsource Children—as well as future Mana titles—is part of the theme of the World of
Mana project. That is, by using different development teams, players will get to experience the Mana
universe from a variety of perspectives (think: The Animatrix). Next Entertainment was chosen on the basis of
a report that the company filed with Ishii, which showed a surprising amount of insight into the Mana
series.
