Evil Avatar's Nick Puleo (aka bapenguin)
recently checked out the Xbox 360 kiosk in the Phillipsburg (NJ) Wal-Mart. He was curious to see what kind of
downloadable content he could nab with an Xbox 360 memory card—we each received one at a recent NYC media
event.
When Nick arrived at the kiosk he was shocked to find the output settings locked on 480i resolution (4:30 screen
ratio)—on a 720p native LCD (it's ugly, folks). Not exactly the way to attract consumers… Microsoft had better
straighten out their reps—and give Wal-Mart employees a crash course while they're at it! As for the memory card, if
you've got one, you can download 4 dashboard themes—let's hope MS adds some juicer content by launch.
Xbox kiosks not safe in Wal-Marts' hands?
