They like us, they really like us! We're
happy to announce our nomination for "Best Gaming Blog" at this year's Spike TV Video Game Awards, to be hosted by
everyone's favorite bad@$$ with a lightsaber, Samuel L. Jackson. The event will take place Nov. 18 at the Gibson
Amphitheater in LA and will be broadcast on Spike TV, Dec. 10 (9PM ET).
There are two viewer's choice categories, "Best Driving Game" and "Most Addictive Game", but the rest of the winners are determined by the Video Game Industry Voting Council. OK, who are these fine journalists and is there still time to contact them for some last-minute sucking up? No, we're simply going to take pride in our own journalistic integrity and unparalleled commitment to bringing you the best daily reporting and swag the gaming industry has to offer - and that is reward enough for us. Now hand over the damn moon man (or whatever they give out)!
Interesting how Shadow of the Colossus didn't get any nods, but games that won't even be released for another month (Aeon Flux, King Kong) have garnered multiple nominations. Anyway, if we win, we promise to keep our acceptance speech short - unless Jessica Alba, Naomi Watts, and/or Charlize Theron are anywhere near the podium.
