The Nintendo revolution may launch as early as next summer and may
cost $200 in the US and €300 in Europe, according to rumors.
Do these rumors jibe with all the other Nintendo Revolution rumors that've come before? Continue reading, and we'll
see.
1. Revolution expected in Japan
spring of 2006: This could've been a
misinterpretation of a Japanese financial statement, but the end of spring (May) is pretty close to beginning of summer
(June), we suppose.
2. Nintendo hotline hints at Revolution release [in
the later half of 2006]: Hmm, not too far from
June, and July might actually fit in there. But it seems that we?re looking for is a predictions that?s juuuuust
right?.
3. Amazon leaks Revolution price & release date?
[June 15, 2006]: Perhaps that Amazon-France listing
was really prescient? or just merely specific because an exact date was needed at the time, but this is pretty darn
close (to a rumored date, that is)... maybe a little too close?
4. McDonald?s to offer DS Wi-Fi access that?s free and easy
[June 2006]: Huh? No, there weren?t any rumored release
dates in our original MickeyD?s post, but if you read a different source for our info from The
New York Times, you?d know that a Wayport VP expects ?to have Wi-Fi in around 7,000 McDonald?s outlets in America
by June.? Coincidence? Or perhaps a Revolution Revelation [via
nintendojo]?
So there you have the latest reasonable guesses as to the launch date (or window) of the Nintendo Revolution. Since
Nintendo doesn?t want to ?fall behind [its rivals] by too much,? it stands to
reason that the Revolution could release as late as 2007, but more likely launch sometime in 2006 (if not sometime
after March of 2006). At least the prices sound reasonable.
