I know there are a few vid clips, but they really should have offered up mp3 downloads or partial podcasts of past shows or something to draw in the people that may want to attend something like this...and so that people like me can get some free tunes.

It's really too bad since I was fortunate enough to go to the First show here in Los Angeles. It was a great concert!

Sorry... I don't see much of a market for this. There are a few rabid gamers out there who would dish it out for this, but really, I'd rather spend my money on GAMES instead of this silly stuff.

Ha! This is only because it has Tommy Tallerico attached to it! He's a freaking idiot!

Damn...good thing I already saw it in LA. I hope it tours again, though. When I saw it, they were still smoothing over the edges (it was the very first concert).

To #8, you can get [bad] tickets for less than $10 with even with the handling fee. I spent $30 on my ticket it was well worth it.

Note to people considering seeing this (who still can), don't not go because of TT. He's not his usual EP/JD self in the concert.

Yeah, I thought the IDEA was good enough, but the clips I saw on TV made it look really cheesy. Music appreciation is great and all, but people climbing and sneaking around on stage dressed as Solid Snake and Lara Croft? No thanks.

Going out on a limb here... I presume the Vancouver/Seattle shows are still on not because of tix sales but becasue Tommy is from Vancouver and it's where he has his studio, etc. If I stretch a bit further I'd bet the whole idea may have even been born in Vancouver with members of the VSO providing the orchestral. Who knows... I may check it out next week.

They didn't sell enough tickets? Didn't they just start selling tickets again, like, recently? I mean, you can't cancel something and then restart it expecting people to be waiting in the wings to rush forward.. honestly. I got better things to do. I really wanted to check this out, too.

Hey everyone,

This is Becky Young - Marketing Coordinator for Video Games Live. I just wanted to point out that we have a great thread going on in the forums about this announcement. We aren't CANCELLING ALL VGL like a lot of people claim. We are doing Vanouver and Seattle this weekend, and then we will be working to focus on some REALLY big one-offs across the country for 2006.

Also, Tommy lives in California, not in Vancouver. Vic lives in Vancouver where the studio is.

I invite you to come check out the forums and help support this groundbreaking industry event.

As someone who actually attended the Vancouver show, I can safely say it was an experience worth attending. The theater hall was PACKED. Tons of fanboys to be sure, but a lot of casual gamers and many parents that came out with a completely different outlook on video game music. What an evening. It was an amazing experience.
