You know, with all the constant comparisons to the game industry
nowadays, you'd think that Hollywood's many and varied attempts to base a movie off of a video game franchise had met
with resounding success. Ask any gamer, however, and you'll learn that the only thing resounding about these movies is
the sound of their brain attempting to escape through their ears. From thinly-veiled marketing ploys (The
Wizard) to just plain awful (House of the Dead), few, if any game-based movie franchises evoke the sense
of awe and majesty that the games themselves do.
Armed with that information, our sister site Cinematical has taken the time to judge the seven worst gaming films of all time. It's not pretty—we're obligated to warn you that the lingering memory of such cinematic atrocities may be too much for some readers to bear. Viewer discretion is advised, especially to anyone who's ever seen Super Mario Bros. Trust me, you've suffered enough.
