With the California violent games bill
passed (and now
contested), Florida has decided to join in the frenzy with
its own game restriction bill. State senator Alex Diaz de la Portilla (R-District 36) has more or less copied the
California bill verbatim, tacked on a clause for arcade machines, and introduced it to the Florida state Senate for
consideration.
The routine is more than familiar by now: expect the bill to pass, the ESRB to condemn, the ESA to sue, and whole mess
to become one step closer to reaching the federal level. What state do you think is next up for violent game
legislation?
[Thanks, bandersnatch]
