Jean Baudin collects guitars with lots of strings on 'em. There's a special name for such guitars: "fat basses." But lest we get sued by the guitar lobby we should note that they probably prefer to be called "liposuctionally challenged" or somesuch.
Regardless, here's a man who collects such instruments and a little demo of him playing the Super Mario Brothers theme on one of them. The music geeks over at Music Thing type that they have been rendered "speechless" by such displays of guitar prowess. Luckily, they weren't also rendered fingerless too, or there'd be no blog entry for us to cover.
Isn't it also a little funny that the trend in game controllers (more buttons! bigger!) is mirrored in the guitar world? If there's a Nintendo equivalent in the guitar world, have they proposed yet a one-string gyroscopic guitar to bring pluckin' back to its roots?
