So that leaked info a week ago is so far pretty close to being true. Amazing. If it all turns out to be true I will be very surprised

It does indeed look like the info Joystiq reported a week ago is true. Sometimes "leaks" are accurate... sometimes that's because they're deliberate.

Although it seems the racial ability has changed from the leaked info. It is now Mana Tap instead which will recharge your mana(or energy or rage) and unleash it in a secondary racial ability called arcane torrent(which uses silence all enemies in your vicinity for 2 seconds, also interupting spellcasting). Giving you mana(or rage or energy) a boost in the process

since WoW's official page doesn't mention whether it'll be free or not, I assume we'll have to pay for the expansion pack?
and to think i just started playing 5 days ago..

So, all of the lvl 60 epic stuff is rendered more or less useless, correct?
Babu @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM
The expansion will be sold seperately yes, but you will still be able to play in the same world as everyone else with out without the expansion. All epic stuff is not quite useless im sure it will still hold some value, but eventually it will be useless.

And only a vague promise of a release before the end of 2006 (according to IGN). I cant be bothered to get excited over a release so far ahead. Its not as if blizzard ever release anything on time as well...

How is that guy holding that huge sword like it's a wodden stick?! That just kills the immersiveness for me.
Observer @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM
The scanned magazine lists that blizzard wont add any new classes :(

Not buying it. Not enough. Even Desert of Flames EXPANSION had more crap then this.
Both expansions = useless.
All this world needs is a Guild Wars expansion. After buying the EQ2 one and seeing this one, a GW expansion could revive my love for MMORPG content.

The level 60 Epics won't nessicarily be "useless". An Epic item, as defined (and recently tweaked) by Blizzard means "an item significantly stronger than lesser items it's level". The introduction to a level 70 cap, and presumeably level 70 Epics, just makes the level 60 Epics comparable to the level 40-50 Epics... not "TEH W1N!!!111!!12onetwo", but still more powerful than other items of a comparable level.
Looks like all those who spend hundreds of hours in instances for a 4% drop chance to share a roll with four other people on an item that may or may not raise that dps two or three will just have to keep on doing said pathetic act, that's all.

I would guess the other race is the Naga, who are the former high elves before they all got ruined by Archimonde and the Magic Well. The Naga, specifaclly the myrmidons, are freaking awesome.
boneyard @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM
guildwars isn't a mmorpg :)
and i would indeed expect an expansion of that soon enough, kinda expected it already as that would be their main money maker.
the info that was leaked was prolly early info for magazine's to print AFTER blizzcon, but not every magazine understood that i guess.

The Raised level cap will destroy all the ultra high level content such as BWL and MC. Before, only the best and most organised managed to tackle BWL, when this comes out, theyll just be farmed and nefarius killed by any group of peeps.
Completely destroying the whole feel of the game.
