The video intro to Perfect Dark Zero has been posted
online.
In a music-video-like entrance, Ms. Dark gets to show off her independent feminist spirit through a series of
silhouetted Bond-esque animations (er, motion captures).
For a stateside mirror of the 99-sec. video, check out the Putfile over
here.
[Thanks,
Will]

Pretty cool, actually. A little too flashy, IMO, but a good pumped-up intro to a (I assume) fast paced game.

Actaully that looks more like a commercial than a game intro, but oh well who am i to second guess.

Yay, more pre-rendered bullshit that doesn't have any relevance to the actual gameplay!

That music was terrible. They should have had garbage or evanescence do the intro music...

It doesn´t look like the intro. There´s a lot of weaponry but no action or storyline. Still looks cool.

The intro for the original PD was better. The music for this one sucks, it's too poppy.

Yeah that music wasn't very good. It amazes me how much work goes into something that 99% of the gaming audience will skip right over by hitting START.

Unless they prevent you from skipping it... I'm looking at you, FarCry.

And I'M looking at you Mr. Miyamoto. You and your non-skippable intros. I just want to start a new game of Ocarina of Time, not watch the intro again! Same goes for any other game creator who is too pretentious to let you skip cut scenes.
BTW, I love Miyamoto-san. I just don't like the unskippable movie thing, which occurs in many of his games.

some of those unskippable intros on xbox are playing while the disc is caching to the hard drive, which is why you'll often see a "please wait" message if you try to skip them. it's annoying, but it's going to happen with games that use such extensive hard drive caching (i'm predicting this is going to be really prevalent on half life 2 on xbox). for 360 games, i don't know that it will be as big an issue.
on topic, as excited as i am for this game, that intro was horrendous. i'm a little bit embarrased for rare after that, kinda like seeing a girl break up with your friend in front of a room full of people.

Yeah that intro is pretty much ass IMO. I'm getting less and less excited about this game with every press release.

If this were a PS3 title, everyone would be saying how the intro is representative of gameplay.

actually, it played out more like a "hip, edgy" female james bond intro. there wouldn't be a whole lot of handgun fire in a childrens show (and lasers and blasters don't count; cartoons now can barely even show guns).

In my opinion it looks like the equivalent of a mindless summer action movie, tons of fun but completely shallow, I think it will be a great game just not an epic like halo.

Those who think this is the next halo will be in for a severe disappointment. Yes, I'm sure it will have its strengths, but I personally don't like what they did to it. PD was about in your face combat and chunking an empty dragon behind you to blow the guy chasing you to hades, not about ducking behind things and rolling around on the ground like a super-agent-wannabe. I didn't like the video because it seems like they are trying to be hip and pop culture and failing.

I think all of the good rare designers went to Free Radical or Zoonami.
