Zerg playable in StarCraft: Ghost multiplayer mode
It was revealed through an extensive Xbox LAN set-up at the recent
Blizzcon that the Zerg will be a playable in StarCraft: Ghost's multiplayer mode.
While it's intriguing to play a StarCraft-based game as a curvacious female Ghost (read: a stealthy psychic
commando), sometimes you just want to go nuts as a Zergling, Hydralisk, Mutalisk, or Infested Terran.
We can't expect Blizzard to make a separate Zerg campaign or unlockable player for the single-player mode, but it
would be remiss if the house that Battle.net built does not bring at least the Xbox and PS2 versions online.

Playing as a zerling is going to be great. I hope they also add some prottoss units.
BlackYoshi @ Dec 18th 2005 9:37PM
Being a dark templar would clearly be win+god.

Sounds like somebody took a page from Gloom or Natural Selection...
Considering the development title of this history, I'd take this all with a grain of salt and not infer too much one way or the other.
Should add some depth to the online experience though.

*YAWN* I've lost just about all hope for this game.
Unless they gutted the whole thing and started from scratch I have little hope for this game. When I played it at E3 2004, it felt like a broken version of Splinter Cell. The idea is cool and all...but they'll need to pull a miracle in order for it to be any good.
Einhanderkiller @ Dec 18th 2005 9:37PM
This reminds me of... NATURAL SELECTION!!!

Though playing as the zerg is a cool idea, Judging from the screenshots of this game, it looks like it should have been made for n64. Graphically, It's pretty dissappointing.

[sigh]
Well, there's always next year...
Rx @ Dec 18th 2005 9:37PM
I just wish the zerglings actually looked like zerglings.
Patrick @ Dec 18th 2005 9:37PM
I figured this game to be the next Warcraft Adventures where they work on it for years and have it nearly completed before pulling the plug on the whole project. It's actually going to see the light of day?
Rare Hare @ Dec 18th 2005 9:37PM
is it just me or does that screenshot look like SHIT.
Deadpool @ Dec 18th 2005 9:37PM
ZERG RUSH! KEKEKEKEKE!
Blarrrg @ Dec 18th 2005 9:37PM
Mmm Zerg!
Google Nazi @ Dec 18th 2005 9:37PM
I don't care about this game anymore. It's been way too long in development and promisses being broken every year. Infact i'm taking bets on which will release first; Duke Nukem Forever or Starcraft Ghost.
High Templar control would be sweet! BTW, I cannot wait until there is a new Starcraft (strategy) game if there ever will be one. I stopped playing Brood War like 5 years ago, and at that time the game was already really old. Upgrades, upgrades! ^_^

During a panel on the Art of Blizzard at Blizzcon this past weekend, they showed off the artwork for Starcraft Ghost. They displayed the art from Terran, Zerg and Protoss forces, and the graphics were really very good.

In reply to #6 "Unless they gutted the whole thing and started from scratch I have little hope for this game. When I played it at E3 2004, it felt like a broken version of Splinter Cell.":
They did. When they switched studios, they scrapped about 90% of the code and art and 100% of the storyline. The game is now not only more stealth based than it was in '04, but also ties in more closely with the Starcraft universe.
There will be protoss opponents in the game, but not playable characters. After all, the basic protoss zealot was like twice the size and health of a marine, firebat, ghost, or zergling, and could take 3 zerglings at a time without dying. I'm actually kind of happy they're not included as playable characters, even if it would be awesome to play as them, because it would unbalance the game as an fps.
Warden @ Dec 18th 2005 9:37PM
I think it would be cool if you could play as a Ultralisk and Try to Destroy a Terran Base or something.
Bacon @ Dec 18th 2005 9:37PM
Yes, Protoss will be playable in the multiplayer mode. You can start to breath again :-)
Kirby07 @ Dec 18th 2005 9:37PM
"There will be protoss opponents in the game, but not playable characters."
Completely untrue, I attended Blizzcon and they announced during one of the panels that the Protoss will be included in the multiplayer modes along with the Terran and Zerg.

I went to BlizzCon and played this game for many hours. It was real fun and somewhat creative for a shooter. I just don't get why they're gonna put it on these old systems when the new ones are comming out so soon.
The game is alright, hardly a Starcraft 2 though.
Slayer'Boxer @ Dec 18th 2005 9:37PM
Starcraft 2 would be so amazing. Who got the bright idea to do the first person shooter? Also note that a SC 2 does not mean drastically changing the gameplay and revamping everything (WC3) Im talking keep it simple, make it run smooth and look nice. Thats all a good game needs. Simplicity is bliss, and makes for more complicated gameplay in the end. damn you starcraft ghost!!

Is it true they stopped making this game for the GameCube? I heard that it was for GC,PS2, and XBOX then i asked gamestop for a release date and they kept putting it off untill i was told now its only for PS2 and XBOX. can someone please fill me in?
