Does anyone recommend the game Killer 7? I thought it basically was a poor shooter on rails..

Why the buzz?

"The cover of the first issue, pictured, looks to retain the artistic flair of the game, with all nine characters drawn pretty close to the game’s visuals. Anyone planning on picking this up next year?"

Personally, I think the characters look a little disfigured when placed side by side to the game. But I suppose each should have its own merits...

The gameplay is a little goofy, but the story and visuals more than make up for it. You don't so much play killer 7, as experience it. Its sorta like watching somthing like Sin City, and getting to progress the story in between. Definatly worth picking up, and it won't take you forever and a day to play through it. Look for about 10 hours. Once you get the hang of the controls it plays alright, just let the game take you where it wants you to go, and you will have a pleasent experience.

Nico, you should give it a try. It's pretty much a love it or hate it game from what I can tell. Fortunately for me I'm on the 'love it' side.

Personally, I think it's the best game I've ever played. Ever. The gameplay has its flaws, but the way everything else is delivered more than covered that up for me.

Anyway, I hope the comic book is as good as the game. Should be awesome!

The control scheme, to me, is not that bad at all - if you can read a map and unerstand cardinal directions (North, South, East, West), you should be fine. The game does indeed run on a track - you run forward or backwards and when you get to an intersection you then choose what path to go down - but they give the direction and you have an overhead map that you can check at any point (there are no loading times here, either). When an enemy comes you can easily switch to first person to take them out, and while that takes some time to get used to it, as with all games it becomes second nature by the third level (when it is needed, as by then enemies will come at you from behind, as well).

The reason, I feel, for the odd control scheme is to retain the cinematic camera angles - to me, they were worth it. I love the story; it's hard to come by something so gritty and actually good in games these days. I'd reccomend it, at the very least renting it.

I agree with Fuzz, the gameplay is ok, but the story and visuals are awesome. My only problem was that after the first play through, my reaction was "huh?". I actually had to pull up a plot analysis from IGN to figure out what the hell was going on and it turned out that I only understood about half of it on my own. But maybe I'm just retarded.

This is kind of a side note, but I also really liked the music. Normally when I play a game I dont even notice the music, but the soundtrack for this game definitely stood out and in a good way.

Like a fiend, I am. Pick this up, I will. If only because I think the whole story of Killer 7 would be much better told in a less interactive medium, seeing as how limited the interactivity of the game was to begin with. A case of "Not a game, not quite a movie."

Whoa. I just got K7 on Thursday, and I'm LOVING it. Incredibly weird, awesome, and creepy, all rolled into one. I can't wait for this comic, although it scares me that Con looks a little dippy....
