Q Entertainment has announced it will enter the MMOG market
in Japan, South Korea, and China, but it has not revealed which genre it will delve into in this new
venture.
Going into MMOs isn't all that surprising considering Q head
Tetsuya Mizuguchi's penchant for
trying new things, but we
have to wonder what genre will allow him to keep development costs down, as MMORPGs tend to have expensive upkeep and
hosting requirements. (Ninety-Nine Nights, pictured to the right, is currently being developed in conjunction
with Phantagram and Microsoft.)
This news follows on the heels of word in September that Q will have Gameloft porting its popular puzzlers
Lumines and Meteos to cell phones early
next year.
