Xbox 360 kiosk video walkthrough
Does your patrician blood run cold at the thought of
visiting Wal-Mart? Does GameStop drive you nuts? If so,
check this little video walkthrough of the Xbox Kiosk experience that Microsoft has put together for sales reps manning
kiosks at demo locations throughout the English-speaking world.
It's almost like being there, except without the neck strain or contact with icky proles.
14 minutes of video after the jump.
[Thanks, R]

Last week I caught a 360 kiosk at BestBuy which had a playable demo of Call of Duty 2. I have to admit, I wasn't interested in this game until I saw it being played. It's pretty cool.

hehe, the guy is defidently not a gamer:
he said Gattaca instead of Galaga when referencing classic arcade games :)

The Kiosk at GS and EB are cool. However, the KIOSK at Wal-mart will BREAK your neck.

Wow, so many bells and whistles. So many worthless, expensive bells and whistles. I feel bad for all you people who are paying for add-ons and resources you already have: "live TV", product information, and a virtual marketplace (internet anyone?). I'm so glad I'm not going to waste my money on a 360, just so it can turn around and sell me more crappy merchandise.

"I didn't know DVDs films held information about what rating it is :/" They have for years. In fact, I'm too lazy to turn the warning on my PSTwo off. I just always enter the password. (XXXX) And now games will have it too. So you're a parent who doesn't want their 10 year old playing their copy of Grand Theft Auto 8, just turn on a password.

I cant find the video clip link...?!
Deya @ Dec 18th 2005 9:06PM
I just got back from the BEST BUY store in San Francisco, CA. and to my surprise there was an XBOX 360 set up and ready to play. NO BODY was there, I just walked up took the controller and played, the only playable demos were, King Kong, COD2 and Kameo, the rest were just Video Demos. But NOBODY was there but myself. Oh yeah, I did notice that the controller was already getting very grimy from heavy.

"I cant find the video clip link...?!"
Click Read More and it should open up WMP... It's a streaming video.
matt @ Dec 18th 2005 9:06PM
ironic - the vid won't play on my PowerBook...
SpartanWalrus36 @ Dec 18th 2005 9:06PM
Say if you guys want more footage of the kiosks, (granted not nearly as good) I have about 30 minutes on a subsection of my blog.

They should've spent more money on production and hired professional voice talent.

What about this of us with Macs? We want some Xbox360 lovin' too!
can someone convert this to a format other than crappy microsoft video???
Art Guy @ Dec 18th 2005 9:06PM
It played fine on my Mac. Just download WMP and it should work. Granted I think Quicktime is miles better, but this IS a MicroSoft product.
