EA launches digital music distribution label
EA has partnered with Canadian record company, Nettwerk Music
Group, to bring us EA Recordings. The digital music distribution label features a catalogue of more than 3000
minutes of EA-owned compositions from the past 20 years. Ringtones, mastertones, and MP3s will be made available
via vendors like iTunes, Yahoo Music, AOL Music, and Rhapsody. Yep, the evil empire is just one step closer to
owning your soul…

"Nettwerk Music Group?"
What the hell is Nettwerk?

Nettwerk is a record label, they released a number of Tiesto's CDs in the US, actually...

Oh yay! Now I can download crappy soundtracks to games like Burnout and Madden. Because listening to the same 5 crappy songs 20 times per gaming session is not enough!
Seriously though, I see absolutly no market for this kind of move. I would think that EA would do a digital distribution system for their games (like Steam) rather than for the music in said games.
Unless this is a test to see how well an EA Games digital distribution method would work.
