Another video-game concert tour has been announced, and overseas
trips are being set up and organized from the get-go.
PLAY! - A Video Game Symphony was conceived by VG concert vets from the Final Fantasy-themed Dear
Friends series and the first Symphonic Game Music concerts outside of Japan (in Germany) back in 2003. (Producers'
Q&A here.)
Having attended the excellent Dear Friends event in Chicago this past February, this
blogger certainly hopes the tradition continues for other celebrated achievements in game music with this international
tour (and without suffering the same setbacks that other planned tours have run into).

I was at both the Dear Friends and More Friends concerts in LA and they were absolutely beautiful (even my g/f who isn't a gamer nor does she know anything about FF loved it.)
For "More Friends" all I can say is:
choir + The Black Mages + Orchestra + "One Winged Angel" = PURE BLISS!!!
I was so bumbed when the San Diego VGL concert got cancelled t ho b/c that was my g/f's birthday gift to me :-(

Look, I love the music just as much as the rest of yas, and I love going to the concerts- but please, PLEASE next time, wear a shirt and tie at least for god's sake.
And to the kid wearing the stained My Neighbor Totoro shirt taking pictures with a cell phone that made the cute 'clicky' noise every five minutes or so, DO NOT turn to someone and say "I totally know this one" every set. Politely applaud like everyone else, there is no need for "w00T!"
It's annoying.
That being said, YES! FFVIII music still gives me goosebumps. W00T!!!

Having to go to both "More Friends" and VGL here in Los Angeles, I'm hoping this concert will blow the socks off of VGL.
