It says the ending for the movie script is taken from one of the games...

I thought the endings to the games kind of sucked. :

Highly doubtful a complete script is done by this point...unless someone developed a story generator. Insert character and place names and out comes the story.

LaughingTarget, keep in mind that Microsoft shopped around a script a few months back to the major movie studios, so it's highly doubtful that a complete script wouldn't be finished by this point (for production to realistically begin for the planned theatrical release date).

Microsoft/Bungie had the script done before they started shoping around for a studio to make it. So it is very likely that this is the full script. MS has also made it clear that they are in charge of the script since they want to be 100% ture to the game.

The reviewer pretty much ran down the verbatim story from Halo 1. You wouldn't need a secret script to come up with that, you'd just have to play the game. Only thing that was half-way original was the dream sequences, and those were implied. I'd be surprised if the movie is just a compilation of the game's cut-scenes...

Prediction: This will tank even harder than Doom. Considering that Doom (the game) is actually cool, whereas Halo is sorta sad really. Master Chief? C'mon, which is it? Pick one, you can't be both.

Has there ever been a video game movie adaption that hasn't sucked?

Master Chief, short for Master Chief Petty Officer, is the highest enlisted rank in the United States Navy. Next?

Whoa there, what? I don't think Halo is all that great (and Halo 2 pretty much blew) but there's no way Doom is better than Halo. Graphics and such? Sure, definitely better. But man, the whole game was walking through the same dark hallways. Over and over. Out pops a monster. Hallway. Dark. Monster. Over and over and over. I got so completely bored with it after 20 minutes. At least Halo had a story (and a half-baked one in Halo 2)...

just my $0.02!

idk about this. They describe grunts as being "gorilla-sized." How would little no name latino review get this script? I do like though how they gave it 5 out of 4 stars. So apparently these guys are Halo freaks:)

yo, these scripts are all mainly from the three halo books: Halo, the fall of Reach. Halo, the Flood. And Halo, First Strike. So if you guys actually wanna kno wuts goin on, i recommend reading the books, since the script is gonna be based majorly on them

I wonder if this supposed "script" is the real script to the movie, or some stupid ploy of Microsoft and Bungie to hype up it's own game. It's not like they haven't played the hype game before you know.

Just something to think about.

Im still unconvinced w/ this script. If you read the books, they never break ranks to go charging the enemy like idiots. This script makes it seem like the Spartans lose their heads once fighting starts and do whatever they want. This is definitly a fake, anyone who has played the game or read the book could have written this script, seeing as its pretty much based on Halo 1. And what is up with the descriptions of the grunts? Gorilla-sized it says in the beginning and toward the middle it says they are "stocky, broad, and powerful," come on, if they were powerful they would have killed the chief by now considering that is mostly what he fights. And when they describe the lifeboat's crash landing scene where MC is the only survivor, they talk about a Ghost chase. How the hell did the Covenant get Ghosts if they came out of a dropship. This is serious BS if you ask me. Don't believe this, this is another fake Halo script.

The Covenant dropships can carry ghosts... That doesn't make the script any more believable though.
