Dead or Alive 4 delayed to January?

Another delay? What the hell! I am starting to care less an less about this system. I keep trying to decide on Xbox360 or PS3 to buy. Maybe Nintendo is the right choice. I hope Sony and MS get their sh*t together.

IGN is showing that this game will still be available at launch. I need some offical info. Not from a anonymous game store employee. You know what I mean.

This is just the beginning guys... Prepare to be disappointed by other delays, followed by lots of 7's and 8's when the launch games are finally reviewed. Then the inevitable backlash by all the people who thought buying an Xbox 360 would be so wonderful that they wouldn't need to have sex for a month. Come January you'll see lots of "well I played it for a while, but I found myself going back to my old Xbox/PS2 because of (insert game here)" posts to message boards. Microsoft needs one home run title with some teeth before next year. I just don't see it yet.

Bloo - Was that sarcastic? It's hard to tell over the internet. I'm hoping so. When was Metriod supposed to be out again? You know the one that came as a demo with the DS? Oh that right, it's been delayed multiple times (see the Joystiq articles for more info).

Anyways.... every single developer has delays, plus this isn't MicroSofts fault, Tecmo is making this game. You can't blame Sony, MicroSoft or Nintendo for delays with third party titles, you can only blame the developers making the game.

I got an XBox360 at launch, but went back to my PS2 to play Path of Neo, Okami, SOCOM III, Prince of Persia III, Resident Evil 4, God of War 2, Soul Calibur 3, True Crime 2, MGS 3:Subsistence, Shadow of the Colossus...

I heard it form my local ebgames store, that it will not be released before 10 december, what means , this is a swedish store.

but honestly, it seems that every week my excitment gets tripped up because each launch title I'm excited for seems to be getting delayed, guess I'll just be picking up my 360 and the HALO double pack and see what all the fuss is about while I wait for the good shit to come out.

First of all...I don't know why you guys take the word of a "store employee" seriously. These guys know as much as we do most times. Look at Kameo, I bet no "store employee" could have predicted boxes of it would be arriving in stores yesterday, and it did. When I went in to EB to see if my local store had copies he had no idea that it had begun shipping yet, so how would a "store employee" know any more? This "store employee" is most likely some 16 year old kid who read the press release on DOA4 being delayed in europe and then used his title "store employee" to make people think he was a reputable source. When TECMO makes an announcement I will believe. Until then I'm not going to go bashing the 360 more and more. I still think the current crop of games are fine.

no nintendo delay? then why can't I play zelda twilight princess in november when it was SUPPOSED to come out but then got DELAYED to "sometime between february and april". These delays that have happend are not M$ fault. They can't force 3rd party developers to have software done by a certain time. I really don't mind if DOA4 gets pushed back anyways. With games like PD0, Condemned, and Call of Duty 2, I'll be plenty busy with the current list of games until after the new year easily. Just in time for the next crop of good games to come out...Gears of War, 99 Nights, Ghost Recon, etc.

For you guys waiting for the PS3, I wouldnt get your hopes up of getting yours hands on it here in the states this spring. Odds are sony will do a japanese release in the spring, but a USA release a year from now for Holiday 06. I don't think sony will want to do a worldwide release like M$.

Well that just pushed back my reason to get a Xbox360.

Right now the only games I want are Dead or Alive 4, Soul Calibur III:SE and Halo3.

Microsoft has NEVER announced DOA4 as being a launch title for the 360. Sure, they've shown demos of the game and all, but they never even made an official announcement on what titles would be out at launch and what titles wouldn't. What has happend is that since they have been pushing it as such a big name title everyone has assumed it would be out by launch. Either way its tecmo's fault if its delayed. Epic new they werent going to have gears of war done on time, so they announced it wouldnt be out for launch. Ubisoft did the same with Ghost Recon. I'll admit if Tecmo were to come out NOW only 2 weeks before the system came out (and before we expect the game to comeout) and announce that the game would in fact be delayed, it would be kind of messed up. I dont think any developer has ever postponed a game less than a month before it is expected to be released, so I'm still counting on DOA4 being there either on, or shortly after the launch.

Bloo - No hard feelings. As I'm sure you can agree, some people posting here exist in strange realities where one company is perfect and the rest only release crap.

Truth - Again, I'm not sure how you missed this... MS has no control over Tecmos development team. If Tecmo decides at the last moment to delay a game, there isn't a whole lot MS do about it. Even if it is delayed till Dec 1, it still fits into the launch window that MS talked about. Plus I can't say I've seen a definitive list from MS of when every launch window game is supposed to hit the shelves.

Jody, is reporting on a possible delay negative? Of course, but does that mean we're doing it out of some sort of allegiance to Sony? That's simply ridiculous. If there's bad news to report, it's news we've gotta report. Period. Similarly, good news should be covered because it's news, not because we're fanboys of one platform versus another. Please try not to jump to unwarranted conclusions.

Oh, and, Jody, if that post was meant to be a joke, it might help to add an emoticon or two to convey its somewhat subtle intent.

The reality is the 360 was rushed to market, but still an awesome and highly reliable system with just as much power as the Ps3 and more in certain areas, and vice-versa. Here is the issue. IBM and ATI had trouble cranking out the systems specs promised (which is why apple left IBM for the same exact reasons) being late in obtaining the hardware and having to adjust. (the 360 originally had tri-cores at 3.5Ghz not 3.2, however IBM just couldn't deliver what they promised in the time frame they promised adn still make it stable.) As a result developers got their kits late as both IBM and to a much lesser degree, ATI dropped the ball. The result is many developer built their launch games around the dev kits and were afraid to use the theorical power of the system without actually having it in front of them. Basically they built games around what they new the minimum would be which were the alpha kits. Anyway many of the games just are not finished. In the case of oblivion, the radiant AI is not simple AI paths but rather much more complex code which require extensive testing.

Walmart sent me an email this morning saying my Game is delayed until further notice. I only ordered 2 games (GR3 and DOA4) and GR3 was announced as being delayed weeks ago. Now they are both delayed. I'll have an XBOX on the 22nd but no games to play on it.

this happens every generation...theres always a couple or " must-haves" that get pushed back ( or get scrapped entirely)...until ghost recon and GOW come out i can live with COD2 , nba 2k6 and Pgr3...

DAMN!! The 360 launch lineup is looking worse and worse with each passing day.

Funny the way people were saying how great the 360 launch lineup would be, compared to the PS2 launch lineup. LOL

I sure am glad that I haven't wasted any of my money on the 360!! Maybe it'll actually have some good games by the time the PS3 is released.

Wasn't really looking forward to this title anyway. I'm a fan of Virtua Fighter and Soul Calibur.

Kameo and Condemned seem like the only interesting launch titles in my opinion. Even though Condemned looks like Riddick:Escape from Butcher Bay on a good day.

But it doesn't matter, all three companies are bound to have some games I want to play, and once again, I will be suckered into buying all 3.

LOL. I bought SSX because it was the only decent thing at the PS2 launch. To say SSX was amazing and the PS2 wins because of that is ludicrous though. Thanks for the laughs. Project Gotham Racing, Kameo, Perfect Dark, Condemned, NBA2K6, and Amped all have a chance of being as good if not better.

I would be a little disgruntled if it got delayed only in Europe. PAL conversion isn't that hard surely.

Still, there are enough launch games that im looking forward to: PD0 (huge fan of the first), Condemmed (slightly under the radar, but after watching a 30 min long gameplay vid I have to say it's looking very tasty, I'm hoping that the makers of F.E.A.R will deliver on this game; also i'll probably go get either Kameo or if i'm feeling over-induldgent on the fps front COD2 or Quake 4.

Basically anything that will keep me untill the new year bounty is released.

this is exactly why I would NEVER pre-order anything online. I got mine at my RETAIL eb games, the system I pre-ordered back in may, but for games I originally had PD0, DOA4, GR3, and Tiger Woods 06. When GR3 got pushed back all I had to do was go in and transfer the money to a different game, and voila, I had condemned pre-ordered and paid for. If the same happens with DOA4 all I have to do is transfer it once again. Online is set in stone, unless you can convince wal-mart to change it (dont see why not) but if were you i'd dump GR3 for the time being and get something else like COD2 or PD0 for the time being, as DOA4 will likely be out a few months before it if it really is delayed. This way your not without games on the 360 launch. Just a suggestion.

The 360 isnt going to get a dime cheaper before PS3 comes out, which will most likely be a year from now being that I doubt sony will launch here before japan. So how is spending $400 on the console wasting money now, but in 6 months spending $400 on the console isn't? 6 months from now we will have spent equal amounts of money to play the same games.

1up.com just released a news bit on this, so it sounds like it may be coming true...but the good news is they report its only been delayed until december 1st. Which is only a week after launch. No big deal. I can wait a week.

Who cares if some games get pushed back a few weeks. Honestly I've been waiting for the 360 for over 8 months now and I dont think a 2 week delay to a game will change my mind. Trust me people, GET Perfect Dark Zero. You will not be disappointed unless you are just a negative nitpicky a-hole. The game will be tons of fun singleplay, co-op for those with friends, and XBOX LIVE especially for those with a extended family of over 2,000,000 subscribers. Sony fanboys, enjoy your SOCOM. Rainbow Six Black Arrow was better anyways. And Ghost Recon called and wants its gameplay back.

I just got an email from EBgames.com stating that they won’t be shipping DOA 4 with my bundle. Instead, they will be shipping Call of Duty 2. I’m actually really excited about this because I was considering on purchasing Call of Duty 2 after playing the demo at Best Buy.
