Er, lol... some more? =) Hey, we just report the news, b. If Creative can transition from PC strategy titles to decent action brawlers, anything's possible, right? If the Marvel MMO for the 360 is any good (or FFXI, or maybe another one with promise like... True Fantasy Live, maybe?), we might be seeing some healthy massively-multiplayer competition in the coming generation, regardless of console platform or online service. We certainly wish them all the best.

Interesting move. If the 360 isn't getting NCSoft games, this is very close to checkmate for Asia.

South Korea is the most wired area in the world. If these internet cafes can run Lineage II, City of Heroes/Villains, Auto Assault, etc on easy to maintain, far, far cheaper PS3s, they're going to be loading up on PS3s. You'll probably see the hom eusers start to pick them up, too. Now they won't need to upgrade, they can just keep the same machine, and go crazy.

This is actually pretty big news.

Guild Wars, City of Heroes, City of Villians, Lineage, Lineage II, and Auto Assault are the titles that immediately come to mind.

They're basically a dedicated MMO shop.

4-

Lineage
Lineage 2
Guild Wars
City of Heroes
City of Villains

Those are the out now. Also have on the horizons:

Auto Assault
Tabula Rasa

Every last one is a MMORPG. NCSoft is the world's MMORPG clearing house.

Oh so the games they make are those "leave a button on your keyboard while you're out of the house to raise your level" MMORPGS.Wouldnt it make much more sense to put it on Xbox360 though because of the success of Xbox Live seeing PS3 doesnt even have an online service yet?

Thanks,but no thanks.

I understand you're being sarcastic there, Don, but please try to go easy on people killing themselves to play. As for comments we have to hide, it's better not to leave posts that can easily be construed as flame bait, just to be safe. (Some comments can be misunderstood!) Keep that in mind while typing and I think we'll all be the better for it.

I haven't enjoyed Guild Wars, nor the Lineage games. Can't comment on the "City" series since I have not played but many seem to enjoy them.

umm, no offense guys but the storoes relating to some guy told you this is getting pretty old. Changing it to "sources" from some guy on the forum doesnt make it valid. Im not saying it isnt true, but come on, a reputable sources please.

in other more important news the 360 has a BC list

Okay, so what? Korea never was big on console games; they love online MMORPG alright. What MSFT need support is from Japan. Most of Japanese aren't even using broadband. They don't like to use computer as much as users in western countries and broadband costs way too much for them. It sucks that NC decided not to dev for X360...my guess is that they want to setup their own monthly price and their own server; and PS3 will be good for that.

Lets be realistic, NCSOFT makes great PC games. However, will their PC games become good console games. They will target the PS3 to make MMORPG's and CHARGE which happend with FF and that was not a success with the PS2 because they needed a HD. How is this going to be great for the PS3 when it does not have a HD?

Given what we know of the online strategies of the next generation so far, if Sony leaves the online services up to each publisher as they did this generation, it would be best for NCsoft to develop for the PS3. They are mainly an MMO developer, and for the most part, that means subscription fees. They wouldn't be able to go that route with Xbox LIVE in their way; no one will want to pay for a Gold plan and still have to pay to play another game.

lol ahahahaha this is classic, they report that PS3 is loosing dev support but they cant name a developer, now they actually have a developer who isnt going to develop for 360 who is actually listed and not so BS and the 360 fanboys are crying about sources?

Is this the same site that reported that PS3 dev kits where catching on fire cause a gamestop employee said so?

lol ahhh this site is classic.

The1 is right. A hard drive would be needed if NCsoft wants to have their MMO games to work on consoles the way they currently have it on PC. On the PC side, NCsoft updates their MMO games every so often, even if their not major updates, they still send game owners frequent fixes for their games. Does this mean that the PS3 will be supporting a hard drive now? Or will they be constructing a new system to play their MMO games on consoles that is similar to the way Phantasy Star Online, and soon Phantasy Star Universe, is for playing online? I love their City of Heroes/City of Villains game and I’d really like to see it come to consoles if they could port it. Console gamers shouldn’t have to miss out on games that PC gamers love.

Guild Wars is a benchmark title, in wich you are NOT required to pay monthly fees... By the way I have it and graphically it's a beauty. Also great story.

Bah! The PS3 and Xbox 360 don't need NCsoft.
City of is developed by Cryptic, not NC. Besides that, Guild Wars is more Diablo than Lineage II.
So maybe we'll land a chance on the REVOLUTION. That's what its 512MB ram might be for.
(3 cheers for sweet revenge!)
I'm not intrested with MMORPGs anyway, killing bots in a game seems to be more fun than being killed by those ruthless farming bots.

They wouldn't HAVE to use a HD if they made MMORPGs for the PS3. Remember EQ:OA on the PS2? No HD required, and they still had regular updates to the game. Regular patches went on the memory card, expansions required you to buy a new disc (which isn't NCSoft's style, but it worked).

Guys, NCSoft does not make or develop games, they only publish them. Guild Wars is from the guys who broke off from Blizzard and made ArenaNet. City of Heroes/Villains are from my buds in San Jose who work at Cryptic Studios. NCSoft simply has a good track record of picking and publishing some of the best MMO games. Guild Wars and the cities games are popular here in the US, while cults are made for the Lineage series in Asian countries. They are a publisher I'd keep an eye on, because most of the stuff they pick up is good.

Start loading up on those PS3 memory cards since a hard drive is out of the question. Long load times here we come. Like Microsoft is worried. They have the real 'Marvel' deal and not some rip-off of it. Guild Wars? People actually play that inferior MMORPG game? Just because its free, doesnt mean its good. Its got such a lack of originality its not even funny.

BTW, when I said that Guild Wars was free, I meant the online part and not the actual gameplay itself.
