Nintendo Wi-Fi to kick off at a McD's in Chicago

Mario for the Walk of FameIt's been known for a while that Nintendo's trying to do this Wi-Fi thing right, and that they've got a pact with McDonald's (er, Wayport) to get some free wireless play for the arrival of Mario Kart DS, but no one's heard anything about any specific plans for a launch party.

That is, until now. Mario himself will be making an appearance with his costumed counterpart Ronald at a McDonald's in downtown Chicago this Monday the 14th at 11 AM. The event will feature the extremely recognizable duo "'flipping the switch' to turn on the service" as it were.

No word yet on kiosks to sell Kart-ridges to the DS-owning public that will inevitably show up on a school day. So no desert launch party then?

[Thanks, Blake]
