PlayStation 3 controller gets no love; redesign imminent?

Telsa (#45), what anon (#43) was saying was that if the Playstation 3 controller included motion sensing, then you would have to move both of your hands with the controller to use the motion feature (which would work in some scenarios, but feel awkward in others), as opposed to the Revolution controller which (because only uses one hand with the motion feature) would allow you to move one hand, while keeping the other hand still. Also (this is my personal thought), if Sony did copy Nintendo's design, then they would falling right into what Nintendo already said: that their competition always copies their design (analog sticks, rumble packs, not to mention the standard control pad as well as L and R buttons).

PS3 controller boomerang jokes are so may 2005. What's wrong Joystiq - not enough dubious rumour about spec cutting or developer abandonment to fill your "PS3 sceptic" quota this week?

What would motivate Sony to show off such a hideous piece of plastic even if it isn't the final design? Do they just have a healthy sense of humor?

Well, i hate the design above but then who dont. In regards to leaving it the same as the original.. hell no. I mean the thing WOULD be comfortable if it where bigger just a bit.

But i cant ever feel comfortable using a PS2 controller cause its so small. Yes, im an Xbox fanboy and am used to a slightly larger Controller (the Controller S) but it just feels more well ballanced for an adults sized hand.

This boomarang looking controller Sony designed here is 3 steps in the wrong direction.. but what can u expect? Thats Sony for ya. At least a new design is in the works. Lets see how well they screw this up.

didnt u guys read the conceptual design thingy? maybe the`re just tryin to trick nintendo into doin somethin like that and then pullin out a better controller. but theres a reason this might be wrong...nintendo isnt the one to copy

this is pointless. the controller looks fine to me. its a controller and just like any other controller youll get used to it. im sorry all you sissies are depressed because you cant get the same thing over and over and over again. if i were sony i wouldnt even make a new system. whats the point in putting all the energy they put into makeing these things just so you guys can put em down cause its a little smaller than other controllers or it looks like a boomerang...as far as im concered it has x square circle and triangle and two joysticks...if i were you id be paying more attention to the games rather than the controller. chances are your just gonna ruin your precious ps3 controller with pizza grease and potatoe chip crumbs anyway cause your gonna get into mgs4 and not care what the effin controller looks like...PEACE
