Look at the games they are bundling for the low end premium bundle. PGR3 AND Need for Speed. Why would somebody want to shell out almost $600 and get 2 racing games?

I say it's gonna happen. Those who don't believe, don't go. More for the rest of us. Doesn't hurt to at least check. And if anything traffic at Circuit City increases around that time.

The whole pre-release "embargo" seems peculiar to me. I'd love to be able to play with this toy before the weekend. Does anyone have specific details about Microsoft's rules about leaking the system early? I keep hearing about how it is "illegal" (unlikely, though I guess it could be a breach of contract), how leakers would incur "massive fines" for each item sold early (how exactly would these be collected?), or damaged futures with Microsoft distribution (the most plausible, in my opinion).

I found this article about the injunction against the booksellers that sold the Harry Potter 6 book early. Any similar stories from the gaming world? http://www.raincoast.com/harrypotter/understanding-injunction.html

Maybe this is with Microsoft's blessing. Circuit City and Best Buy are always trying to outdo one another when releases occur the same day. Maybe CC negotiated this coup. And the reason no one knows about it up until now, maybe it was a recent deal. The whole 2pm thing sticks out in my mind. It doesn't make sense to start taking pre-orders JUST in the afternoon. And notice that games are coming out early? This is for those early adopters, who help generate buzz.

the EB store I have mine preordered with got them 2 days ago and called to say come in to reserve games/extras.
They also said that you have to get it the launch day, the 22nd or someone else gets it.

If you can't it will go to the next person on the 23rd and you will have to wait until end of Dec or First of 06 to get yours. They got half of what they expected so it's first ocme first serve even for reserved ones after 1 day.

They are not even doing a midnight opening as they didn't get enuf in stock to warrant the trouble

I went to the web site about 90 minutes late, but found all the systems still available for purchase. The site was having trouble, though--very slow and crashing during the ording process. Interestingly, the bundle came up as separately priced items. You could delete items individually. I dropped both the games without any trouble. Due to site problems, I wasn't able to complete my order for the full system before they ran out. However, I was able to get a core system without games for list price. I'm happy.

anyone feel they were screwed on curcuit citys web order only purchase that took place at 2pm 11/18/2005?????

the only thing i felt i got from curcuit city:
2 hours of me trying to access their page but would never load and even tried their 1800 shop by phone # and got a recording about technical difficulties.

their employees probably bought them all.
