IGN had a recent chat with Obsidian Entertainment CEO Feargus Urquhart about the young company's sequel in waiting, Neverwinter Nights 2. While their only other release to date is Star Wars KOTOR II: The Sith Lords, Obsidian boasts some of the finest talent in RPG lore, which includes veterans of the Baldur's Gate series and the original Neverwinter Nights.
Top priorities for NWN 2 include the addition of a single player campaign, a refined Aurora engine, and an improved toolset for the extended developer community. In solo mode, your hero will be able to take up to three companions along for the ride and (like in KOTOR) you can control them directly or let the AI take over. There will also be more than 70 base monster types to wail on. The game is expected to ship this summer.
The Dec. issue of PC Gamer also has extensive coverage of NWN 2 with additional screen shots.
