eBay has your Xbox 360 launch day solution
For the right price, you can purchase your very own retail camper to ensure that you'll be getting a hand-delivered
Xbox 360 next Tuesday. eBay auctioneer, richman723, is offering to "fly to your location, camp out for 24 hours in
front of your local XBOX 360 retailer, and personally deliver the new game system to your front door on release day
next week." He's even willing to sport your company's logo—sorta like a sponsored athlete. The current bid is at
$0.74.
[Thanks, Jason]

Mine is being delivered to me anyway.

Up to $4.25. Good luck for him to get enough to cover all the costs...
White Rose Duelist @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
If the Xbox360 is included, I'd gladly pay 74 cents for it.
gamingphreak gaming news @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
if he is willing to pay shipping, 74 cents is a steal!
Paranoised @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
That could be useful...

Now that's an idea. Hiring people to stand in line for you.
That reminds me of a halfway decent b-movie once called X-Change starring Stephen Baldwin where there's a technology in wide use that allows people to switch bodies. Primary use is short vacations or business trips making "travel" instantaneous, however there are other applications; masochists can jump in your body to take the hit on that root canal for you for example.
grkfire @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Why didn't I think of this?!!
Coyote @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Funny theres a hentai (read japanese toon porn for you shut-ins) thats called X-Change.. its mostly to do with a school that sudently enters a Twilight-Zone sorta place where all the students change bodies with the opisite sex. One of the better ones accually.
And its a 204.50 now, and he covers all the costs.. unfortunatly he didnt set a reserve so if it doesnt go above 1000 hes prolly gunna get screwed.
Ryan @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
The bid is now US $482.00
joss @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Over $500 as of now :O
damm!! that went up fast from $0.74. What if he camps out for 24 hours and still doesn't get a 360. Worst investment ever i'd wager :)
Chris @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
He can actually pull the auction at any time. A reserve of a $1000 would cost him quite a fee, if he pulls the auction instead, he just loses the basic fee.
Luke @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
It's at 502 right now.
Sam @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
I actually had the same idea for a camping service, but I wasn't going to fly out to do it. I'd just ship it next day air.
RabidMoose @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Not a bad idea at all, for a bored guy who must have a couple extra days that week. Hell, I'm sure whoever buys will invite him in to play for awhile.
vc @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
hahaha great graphic.
Vasco @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Jesus!
$610 now!
Why don't people just spend $500 themselves and get the xbox, a controller, and a game of their choice?
/stupid
Chris @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
I think the advertising is a big draw ... this could turn into a media stunt with much exposure ... worth more than the $1000 ...
Jimmy Johnson @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Do you guys think this could be a scam? I mean the guy has no positive feedback from *buyers*, only from things he purchased.Hmmm...Maybe he'll run away or do smthng else w/ the money, prolly get himself an xbox 360.Seems like a pretty good idea, though.
*just my 2 cents*
Jason Bell @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM

Guy seems up to no good. Got his friends to push the price up and when no one outbid them he cancelled their bids at the end tried to dump it on an unsuspecting bidder.
