Gaming couldn't be better than it is today, right? We've got new
systems coming out, tons of games, superb graphics, and one of the largest entertainment industries around. So the
answer has to be an obvious yes. Or does it?
Whether you grew up on the Commodore, Atari, NES, the 16-bit generation, or the modern 3-D era, you may have asked yourself this question. But the idea isn't "Was gaming better in the good ole days?" rather it's "What needs to happen to encourage continued enjoyment?"
I can appreciate traditional gameplay as much as the next guy and plan on doing so. But conventional games are always there when you need them, and publishers are sure to keep developing them so long as they make money. So then does innovation equal more fun in gaming? Are we content with what's being presented?
