This is EXCITING! I've had more fun with my 1.5 PSP than I have with 2.0 and GTA. At least now there's a chance when another good game comes out, and Im forced to upgrade to 2.5 I can get back. I love ScummVM!
Christopher7xii @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
HILARIOUS

Slashriffs @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Id love to see the look on all the sony programers faces.. "what? they cracked it already?" lol
ZaBlanc @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
What's a PSP?

Jay @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
hehe all this just to play homebrew when theres the GP2X out there.
IanC @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Im still waiting for an upgrade to 2.5 that sorts out the freezing problem...
BXJOSEFF @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
So I'm guessing the 2.51 firmware will be released next week.
And this pointless war continues...
gjd @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Why is Sony trying to stop this? Are they selling PSPs at a loss and hoping to recoup the money through software sales like with the Xbox and PS2? Maybe when the hardware gets cheaper and they can sell PSPs for more than it takes to make them, then they won't care about this.
AceMilo @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
NO NO NO!!! This is FALSE NEWS!!! I am a moderator on a psp hacking forum, and this is total bs. All this "exploit" does is crash the psp due to its OWN protections. It is NOT possible to launch an eboot using this, therefore it is not a hack, it is a crash. This "story" is floating around all the psp sites and its total and complete bull. The "author" even claims he's working on getting 2.0 games like gta to work on a 1.5 natively, yet he has virtually no, if any, coding experience. Everyone, welcome the new yoshiro.
O RLY @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
who cares about the PSP anyway. no games on it.
g @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM

in5ane @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
I'm enjoying GTA too much to care about about homebrew tbh. And come on, no games?! There's a ton of good PSP games out these days... It's just they're more 'PS2-fun' than 'innovative-DS' fun.
JBOY2 @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
look i dont care about hombrew its a disster ready to happen and the people who are downlading rhis stuff viod the damn warnnaty rember the psp cost money and a lot of it so dont srew with hombrew
hOtShOt @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
#13 LEARN TO SPELL!!!
#9 ITS NOT FALSE!!! heres the link if u wanna download the exploit....
www.psp3d.com
hOtShOt @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
thats the beta exploit....
Willb3rg @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
#14.; you're wrong. The thing you download is just a file that makes it crash.
It's been oft-discussed and there isn't a way to make this into an exploit.
i.e. If I wanted to steal your car, and I just used a shotgun on your engine. The car crashes, but I still can't drive away in it. This exploit is the shotgun. This is a METAPHOR.
Paranoised @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
psp3d.com is offline...
Aaron @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Eh, I could care less about playing retro games on the latest firmware. I've tried it and yah, it's fun, but I bought the PSP for the new games, not the old ones I can play on my PC. I'm getting in some serious PSP gaming with GTA, NFS:MW, Burnout, Virtua Tennis and more... glad I can now say too many games, so little time (on my PSP!).
danny b @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
you don't need to update your firmware to play new games like gta i have a psp v1.5 and i'm playing all the new games... wab version changer lol!! N00BS
Monster X @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
The games on the psp are good if your into sports & racing. But for the rest of us there are no games, but GTA & X-Men are pretty cool!
_Psycho @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
#19 n00b yourself GTA and SCOOM don't run on a 1.5 firmware with the version changer.
_Psycho @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Huh I mean SOCOM* mixed the 2 letters
wutang @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
ok AceMilo..i wanna no what forums ur a moderator from

Xnitro67 @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
I don't know that EBOOT can be started. I might wait or try out EBOOT switch into the one that has a v1.50 EBOOT. Don't know just tryin out here.
ian murphy @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
I have written my own firmware based on version 2.5 very similar but you can do so much more.
parm kalirai @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
