What do you get when you take 3 veterans of the games industry,
whose previous work includes Command & Conquer, Medal of Honor, and The Lord of the Rings:
Battle for Middle-earth, give them $3 million, and leave them to their own devices? Former EA Los Angeles
employees Rick Giolito and Mark Skaggs, alongside former VU Games VP Michael Pole, have formed Trilogy Studios and have
given GameSpot a glimpse of their first project.
While no details are known, Skaggs is calling it a "first-person shooter/RPG combo," and suggests at a distribution
system similar to SiN:
Our goal is to create an episodic experience that is totally unexpected," said Giolito. "And not only are we evolving genres, but we are looking beyond current distribution systems as well. We fully intend to support downloadable content."
GameSpot also has obtained some concept art. The studio is planning on using Unreal Engine 3, so expect something that at least looks beautiful.
