Microsoft has revealed a pile of downloadable content that
will be available via the Xbox Live Marketplace on launch day—in fact, there'll be over 400 items. While most of
the content will cost you a micropayment, ranging from 20
points (a pack of gamer pictures) to 1,200 points (Bankshot Billiards 2), there's plenty of free content
too, including Red vs. Blue episodes and
most importantly, a handful of playable demos (Kameo, King Kong, Need for Speed,
NBA Live, FIFA, and all 15 of the Live Arcade titles). While the micropayment system certainly
walks a thin line, the availability of free playable demos is frickin' sweet!
